Unfortunately, SIDS can not be Prevented, but there are things you can do to REDUCE THE RISK...
Obtain early and regular prenatal care. Place your baby on his or her back to sleep. Unless your physician advises you otherwise. Create a smoke-free environment for your baby - Before and After Birth. Place your baby on firm sleeping surfaces. Avoid sheepskin, pillows, waterbeds, and fluffy comforters. Avoid overheating your baby. See the babies doctor regularly, and openly dicuss any concerns.
Keep your baby away from large crowds where exposure to infections is high.
Breastfeed.
